In the Chechen city of Achkoy-Martan, the body of a 17-year-old resident, who previously attacked traffic police officers, has been exhibited in a public square.
An opposition media outlet in Chechnya released a video from the city showing a crowd gathered around the young man's body lying on the ground. The scene took place in front of the Achkoy-Martan municipal administration, where a woman's weeping can be heard in the background. It is reported that local authorities displayed the body of the young man, who was killed on-site after his attack on the traffic police. Subsequently, one of the injured police officers died in the hospital.
The day before, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov held a meeting with the heads of law enforcement and security agencies to discuss the attack on police officers. The regional leader claimed that the organizers of the incident were based in Ukraine and Turkey, and stated that the relatives of the attacker should be expelled from Chechnya. "The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, together with the FSB, should remove the fathers and brothers of those responsible from the territory of the republic. Their property should be confiscated. If they continue to work for Ukraine, which finances them, then other relatives must also be expelled. The same applies to anyone who attacked the traffic police post," Kadyrov stated. The broadcast of Chechen State Television and Radio Company "Grozny" also featured a statement from the family of the deceased police officer, who expressed their desire for the relatives of the attacker not to remain in the region.
